The Challenge
A legal dispute arose between a General Contractor and the Property Owner after damage was reported on the premises. The Contractor asserted that the damage stemmed from flaws in the HVAC system and operational handling by the Owner. With significant financial implications and reputational risks at stake, the case moved into formal legal proceedings, requiring a technically grounded, impartial perspective to determine the root cause and inform the court.
What we did
Our team was engaged as an independent expert to assess the situation objectively and thoroughly. We began with an on-site visit to inspect the affected systems and surrounding conditions firsthand. From there, we conducted a multi-layered analysis:
A technical investigation into the AC system’s operation and interaction with the environment
Assessment of alternative causes and contributing factors
Environmental impact simulations and probability analysis to understand potential causality
A full review of applicable norms, technical standards, and operational protocols
Development of a detailed, court-grade expert report synthesizing findings into clear, evidence-based conclusions
This comprehensive approach ensured that all possibilities were considered—and backed by data, technical rigor, and industry standards.
Result
Our expert opinion became a cornerstone in resolving the dispute. The court, the Contractor, and the Owner now had access to an independent, fact-based view grounded in science, engineering logic, and regulatory norms.
This clarity enabled more informed judgments, helped de-escalate the conflict, and provided a shared technical reference point for all parties. More than just a report, our work served as a neutral foundation for dialogue, decision-making, and—ultimately—resolution.
By translating complexity into actionable insight, we not only supported the legal process but also contributed to restoring trust and focus among stakeholders.
The Challenge
